Sad News and Sick Kid
After planning for over a year, the Ohio trip was aborted at the last minute when Isaac spiked a fever. We were going to just power through it when the doctor, who is about the most laid back pediatrician ever (a good quality to temper neurotic parents) said no way to the travel plans. The past two days have been pretty sad, both because Isaac won't see his Ohio family for a while and because he has been as sick as he has ever been. Three days of 101 plus temperatures, very little appetite, and particularly un-Isaac whininess has been very tough to watch. Poor kiddo.
Plans for an Ohio return will be made for sure.
The silver lining has been that Dad and Mom have done nothing but dote on Isaac for two days--much like it was that magic summer when he was born. It is tough to see him so miserable, but we are fortunate enough to be able to spend four days with him without distraction.
