On the Second Day of Christmas (Vacation)
Isaac did really well yesterday, for most of the day but we tried an experiment at dinner time that did not sit well with the little guy. In Mom and Dad's continuous effort to get him fed and well hydrated we tried to have two bowls of food: one of pears and the other of barley and water. Imagine which he liked better. He even learned which bowl had which food in it. If my spoon approached the barley bowl he would let out a shriek of displeasure. If it came near the pears, a squeal of delight. It was quite funny to watch, but Isaac did not eat as well, so it was not too good for the little guy. By the end of our equivalent of the Pepsi Challenge he wanted nothing to do with the barley.
Later in the evening we hung out around a roaring, literally roaring fire (I got it a little too hot too fast). But the evening was marked by the first real snow. It came down in big puffy flakes (having started earlier in the day while we were on a walk on the bike path in Ayer with a few fingernail-sized flakes). By the time the last of the daylight had escaped the entire view of outside from the windows was frosted with snow. Isaac seemed to be taking it in, as he did not make a peep.
That brings me to another things--Isaac has been making lots and lots of noises of late. I think he thinks he is talking because most of the time they are made at the right time ("Isaac, do you like pears?" "EEEEEKKK"). He starts early in the morning and does not stop until bed.
Anyway, we woke up today with a blanket of thin snow on everything. Dad did some shoveling while Mom and Isaac watched and helped. At the end of the snow removal, Isaac made his first Snow Angel (there is a Wikipedia entry for everything), seen here:
And the final product (with Isaac):
