Isaac Loves TV
Though I am sure it hurts his Mommy and his Nanna to read this, its totally true. Last weekend when my parents were here, for a split second Isaac was hanging out with G-Daddy when the TV was on (it was This Old House, on PBS and we all know that PBS is the vegetable of the TV world; what does that make Fear Factor? The Twinkie?). It was probably the first time he had seen the TV working. And he was transfixed. In part, I think it comes from the fact that it is bright and loud. But I also think it has to do with the rapid changes of images. Until he had seen TV, Isaac just had his world in our house and neighborhood to view. While we do move around and talk, things, the vast majority of what he sees every day (the living room, its decorations and furniture, for example) do not change. But with TV it is constant change. And so, it is rapture for babies...loud, bright, and constantly changing.
So yesterday we went to Old Navy and right next door was an Ultimate Electronics. They had a huge wall of TVs in the back of the store, probably three dozen MASSIVE, BRIGHT, HD TVs. And I took Isaac in to watch for a second. Here is what I got:

He was quiet for about 10 minutes just staring. It was really quite funny. He did eventually break his zombie-like gaze:
