Weekend Happenings

Bianca's belly and Peanut's home continues to grow. She is really anxious to pass the "obviously pregnant" threshold when the belly outpaces the boobies. And I think it happened sometime this week. Using a piece of plywood and a three foot level, she officially crossed the "obviously pregnant" threshold, with the baby bump taking the lead. It took some precise measurements, but it was task I was happy to perform. It is one of those informal milestones letting us know that Peanut is on his way.

Monday was also the halfway point in the pregnancy, which is a little more official than the threshold measurements. Bianca has done a really great job of eating well (super healthy, pro-baby development snacks), pacing herself, staying active, and not being crazy. There have been no real cravings aside from the occasional bagel, which we all know is not pregnancy related, and she has only been sick a handful of times. The only Momma Bear hormones moment came with an annoying sales person last weekend and even that was a Cuban Missile Crisis style near miss. We are starting to look at baby classes and doing more concrete research on baby supplies and room preparations. Overall, it is very exciting at 53 Hancock.

It was Tony Manna and Myles's birthday this weekend (in addition to Grandma Vickie's) and we did a tour in Lil' Rhodey. Myles got cake two days in a row--first at Tony Manna's surprise birthday party and then at it his own, as Erica built a sweet (literally and figuratively) dump truck cake. After last year's road construction site cake and this year's delicious dump truck, I think Ace of Cakes is calling her. Myles told me that the cake was scrumptious and I agree.

Bianca, Peanut, and I had a great time in Rhode Island and I have to extend an official apology to Dom and Erica for getting Myles wound up at his birthday party. He is just so fun to play games with, read to, and chat with. I know that Dom will be sure to return the favor when Peanut is three. I kinda look forward to it.

Just for a few laughs and as a follow up to the classic hit, Game Face, Myles offered this new interpretation on the form, called Choco-Moustache Game Fame:

Happy Birthday to Grandma Vickie, Myles Patrick, and Tony Manna.
